Why I want to be elected:

Scott Aumann
(Incumbent)

Graduated from “The” University of Florida / FAU with a BFA. Majored in Graphic Design, minored in Serigraphy.

After 12 years of management in the Custom Color Concentrate business, In 1998, I saw the light and have been employed by EMD Chemicals Inc. as Plastics Applications Laboratory Manager – until 2005 when I became Technical Marketing Manager Plastics Technology.

I would like to serve the SPE – CAD and its members as a pay back for nearly 20 years of my membership.  I feel that I will bring a unique blend of ideas from the business/creativity/technical sides of the plastics colorant industry.  As a consumer and a supplier of Specialty pigments/resins for plastics, I feel that I could help supply solutions for the needs and desires of the CAD membership.  EMD chemicals in dedicated to the SPE and will continue to support me and the society.  This will allow me to be a valuable and very active member.

Doreen Becker

Becker monitors and develops trends through these industry groups, conferences, annual meetings and trade shows.  She also participates in industry events, regularly interacting with customers and suppliers.
Since I was trained as an analytical chemist but received my Masters degree in Fin Arts, I think I bring a unique perspective tothe color industry.  I believe that creativity without science is lame, but science without creativitiy is blind.  The Color and Appearance division should be hte morst inspired and inspiring division of the Societ of Plastics Engineers and I would like to enable the CAD group to have a more creative perspective oncolor and its applications in plastics

I have been involved in the plastics industry for over 34 years and feel that my experience wold be an asset tothe CAD Board.  Having been an active member of SPE for over 25 years, I have benefited from the programs and contacts the organization offers and I would like the opportunity to give back to the younger members.  My background in both the technical use and the supply fields of plastics will be a good fit for this position.

3 decades of work inteh palstics industry; with experience in gas phase polyolefins, color and additive masterbatches and mineral fillers.
15 years in the color and additives industry, with companies sucha s PMS, M.A. Hanna, PolyOne, Colortech, and Plastimin LLC.  Have lead sales and marketing teams, product management and product development teams, and intellectual property efforts in regional and international companies.

My interest in CAD is to help contiue the promotion of the excellence in color in the plastics industry.  Withour products, we have magnified the use of plastics, reduced the costs of materials nad aiding the cfreation of image and value.  Without color, the world would be quite dull.  As an industry, we have a skill set that must be cointually promoted, adapted, and increased.  We need to continue to focus on our businesses, but on the product value as well.  CAD bridges all sectors of the color and appearance plastic idustry and can serve as an informalcollaborative agent in our industry.
