Panel Discussion
Color Trends For 2016 And Beyond

Please join us Monday October 5, 2015 at 1:30 pm to participate in an interactive panel discussion on Color Trends for the Plastics Industry.  We have assembled an esteemed panel of color trend and technical experts who will guide us through a series of questions and answers that will be asked of the audience who will register their answers electronically and then will be discussed by our panelists.  This should be a lively and informative discussion.

 2015 Panelists
Doreen Becker has been involved in the coloring of plastics for about 20 years.  After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry,  she started her career as an analytical chemist for an effect pigment company and then moved into plastics applications position with Engelhard where she learned about industrial design, color trending and color styling.  At that point she decided to return to school and obtain a Masters in Fine Arts from the New School University (Parsons) in 2001.   When BASF acquired Engelhard in 2007, she started her commercial role in market development for their specialty chemicals group (color and effect pigments for the plastics market.  In 2012, Doreen joined A. Schulman as a Strategic Account  Manager where she specialized in the health and beauty aids and packaging as well as creating and delivering  color trend presentations for the automotive, beauty, electronics and architectural markets.  She has travelled extensively and given papers in Europe, Asia, North & South Americas.  Doreen is a member of IDSA, a chairholder in the Color Marketing Group and serves on the board of the Society of Plastics Engineers for the Color & Appearance Division.  She also holds 10+ international technical and process patents that involve the coloration of plastics.  Doreen lives in Pleasantville, NY with her 11 year old son Grant and her spouse, MJ.
Dr. Danny Rich obtained his Bachelors degree in Physics from the University of Idaho in 1973.  He received a Masters degree in Physics in 1977 from Virginia Polytechnic Institue and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia.  He received a Ph.D. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute working under Dr. Fred W. Billmeyer, Jr.
He has worked for the Sherwin-Williams Company as a group leader, for Applied Color Systems,·Inc. in Princeton, New Jersey which became part of Datacolor International.  Dr. Rich held the position of manager of Advanced Colorimetry and Metrology.
In 1998 Dr. Rich joined the Sun Chemical Corporation to direct the Sun Chemical Color Research Laboratory in the Daniel J. Carlick Technical Center, Carlstadt, New Jersey.  His team was responsible for the SmartColorTM product which was awarded a Thomas Alva Edison award for innovation by the Research Council of New Jersey.  Dr. Rich has published on all aspects of Color Science and Engineering.
George Ianuzzi joined  Sudarshan Nain 2015  after 23 years of experience in the effect pigments, color, as applied to Plastics, Printing and Coatings.  Previously, George worked for EMD Chemicals as the Market Development Manager for the PPS group.  Prior to that, George  worked for Clariant Masterbatch at their Colorworks design center in New York City. He was responsible for helping to develop new and interesting packaging utilizing effect pigments. In addition, for 12 years, he was a Senior Sales Account Manager for Engelhard and Mearl where he exceeded all performance goals for effect pigments, organic, and complex  inorganic pigments.  He has served in a leadership role to The Color Marketing Group on their Executive Committee as Vice President and on their Board of Directors for almost 10 years.
