Why I want to be elected:

Earl Balthazar (Incumbent)Earl Balthazar
Attended Louisiana State University Color technologist well versed in color science, human color perception, and industrial applications of color with over twenty-five years of experience in color system sales and support, color matching and quality control, and color lab management in compounding and masterbatch environments. I have assisted internal and external customers in achieving the best results in producing and assessing colored products, and have extensive expertise in establishing instrument supported color matching and quality control programs. My current role is as an Application Engineer with Datacolor helping clients in the plastics, paint and coatings, ink, and textile industries to understand the intricacies and importance of color, and assist them in implementing the necessary controls and processes to improve efficiencies.. Coming from a polymer compounding background I have always felt that I represented the “where the rubber meets the road” color user and have tried to bring that perspective to the CAD BOD table. As a member of the SPE and the division since 1987, a member of the CAD Board since 2000, a past Chair of the division, and an Honored Service Member of the Society, I have seen – and benefitted from – the great value that CAD brings to its members in terms of networking opportunities, technical content, and educational programs, and I wish to continue working on the board to provide that value for our members. My past contributions include active participation in many board and committee activities; serving as the Chairperson for the Katrina-displaced CAD RETEC® 2005 in Charlotte; and managing the recent return to New Orleans as CAD RETEC 2014® Chair. I have also served as President and Councilor for my local SPE section.
